Take the opportunity to explore some of the fascinating towns and villages along this historic route. To the north, the journey from Ipswich offers stunning views of rivers and estuaries, heath and woodland. Travel through the traditional Suffolk Market Towns of Woodbridge, Saxmundham, Halesworth and Beccles from where you enter the Broads National Park, crossing the Carlton Marshes Nature Reserve, before completing your journey at Lowestoft with views of its industrial and maritime history.

Getting there
The A12 from London passes Ipswich, to reach the station follow town centre signs when you reach the A12/A14 Copdock interchange. For Lowestoft the A12 ends just south of the Railway Station. Felixstowe is at the very end of the A14, again follow town centre signs to the station. If you are coming to Lowestoft via the A47, like the A12 the road ends near to the station. Walking: If you enjoy a walk then the East Suffolk Line has numerous routes connecting with railway stations, for the more ambitious many of the routes can be joined together forming a seventy mile route from Ipswich to Lowestoft.
