Shepreth

Just 12 minutes from Cambridge, or 1 hour 15 mins from London is Shepreth, the home of Shepreth Wildlife Park. See the Sumatran Tigers, Red Pandas, and Meerkats at play and enjoy learning about wildlife conservation.

Visit the Teacake, a traditional, quintessentially English tearoom set in a 1660 thatched cottage with walled tea garden or if a pint is more your scene, the Plough is only 5 minutes from the station. This village pub with big ideas hosts live music and art exhibitions and has a menu packed with fresh seasonal.

If you like the great outdoors there are two gardens to visit, Docwra's Manor Garden is an old farmyard, converted into a series of enclosures, overflowing with plants, and the Crossing House Garden, situated next to the level crossing on the road to Meldreth, originally laid out by the crossing keeper but enhanced by the current owners since 1959.

Just along from the Crossing House Garden is the Shepreth L-Moor, a site of special scientific interest.

A combination of scrub areas, a chalk stream and pollarded willows along the boundaries, has led to a rich diversity of flowers and insects.
