New app to explore Poldark’s Cornwall
By Mike Parker-Bray, communications officer, Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership.
Cornwall's breath-taking scenery takes centre stage in the hit BBC series Poldark, and now you can explore it for yourself – including by train – thanks to a new app.
Visit Cornwall's Experience Poldark app (free from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store) gives you the lowdown on filming locations you can visit, Poldark-inspired walks, travel tips and even a Poldark lingo decoder.
The app helps you combine your adventures with a trip on the county's scenic railways. Suggestions include taking the scenic Looe Valley Line and then enjoying a coastal walk to Polperro's Smuggling Museum. Or you can take the Cornish main line to St Austell, where you're a short hop on the bus from Charlestown, heavily featured in the show as the stand-in for Truro.
Explore all of these ideas and more by downloading the app now.
