Did you know 1% of domestic UK transport emissions come from rail, making it one of the greenest ways to travel? And it's getting greener all the time! Recently community rail partnerships and groups that support our scenic railways across Britain celebrated Community Rail Week (18-24 October) and encouraged people to think about taking greener journeys in the future.

To celebrate we're proud to welcome journalist, film maker and Green Traveller founder, Richard Hammond, who shares with us his seven favourite scenic railway routes across Britain.
